You Wish? REALLY NOW

First off, my last post was about FINALLY getting my new saxophone about 30 days after my birthday. I suppose in that sense it is a Malaysian saxophone. I love it though, and after playing it for a few days I feel like it sounds better on some notes in addition to looking cool.

Anyway, I reckon I get some envy for being "... so friggin' smart" (DK). I saw this poll a few months back that listed some traits that people wished they had. Athleticism, intelligence, charm, among others. I chose athleticism. I remember, though, that something like 52% chose intelligence. So the grass is always greener on the other side.

SOME PEOPLE, I feel, don't have anything they want to like. (The ultimate irony being, I suppose, that I actually bought into that Amadeus theme of 'We're all mediocre'.) That being said, I think I'll put it out there that there are a lot of things in other people I wish I embodied. Danial's ease of nature, Kaitlyn's athleticism, Afzal's charm, Damien's musical ability. Something worth addressing.

The point is, there is no point in getting all depressed in yourself for lacking these things. There's too many of them. So don't.

Thanks for thinking before you open your mouth next time and saying, "God damnit I wish I was as good at math as you without studying." Because, god damnit, so do I.

Life's Good.

No, Life's DAMN GOOD.

Thanks all.

Forgive me (Part II)

Malaysian customs takes AGES! And if you have no idea what I'm referring to, go check out my previous post. There's some kind of jazz session for shits and giggles (and maybe some learning) going down this Sunday and I still don't have a saxophone that arrived within a 100 mile radius (somewhere in KL) MORE THAN A WEEK AGO. THANK YOU MALAYSIAN CUSTOMS.

Also, this cold is fricking closing up my throat, it hurts when I growl/change octaves. Annoying, hopefully I can still play for my Saturday lesson and Sunday.

NOW, on to WHY I named this post what I named it. I always thought it was OK if I went to hell as long as I took no one else with me. You do shit you get shit. Seems fair enough. I invited Danial into Twitter recently, and at first he seemed a reluctant observer. "What the hell is this?" he said. What do I see when I log on to check on what Rory/Simon/Greg have spammed on Twitter recently? Seven updates from Mr. Khusahry. Mayhaps he might say "NO! I have become WHAT I HATE THE MOST!" (if you know where that's from you're cool) And for that, forgive me.

On a more serious note, we had to finally dump Anand outta our senior trip room. Not out of spite or anything, but necessity. But he talked to me, and I realize now we should have told him this was on the cards (since we've had five people and the rooms only fit four) for about 10 days now; we just never told him until today. Which was insanely silly, and foolish, and selfish. So for that, honestly, forgive me.

Thanks for crunching through this one, hopefully you guys weren't expecting too much of the usual lightheartedness.

P.S. I MIGHT HEAR CRAIG PLAY THIS SUNDAY, OMFG YES!?

Mentos

Sorry Sue, I think I still owe you a few. (Four) Shameless plug for my most addicting candy. Reese's chocolate is also fricking good but it appears to have some adverse side effects on me. Sorry GIN people.

Not much happened this break, besides the fact that Anand got reacquainted with Warcraft after a long withdrawal period. I, on the other hand, never left the house except to go to sax lessons, Earth Hour, Allan's, Chilli's, buying a suit (yes... for prom: Gotta go get a good tie) All in that order. Speaking of sax lessons, I still don't have my new sax since its currently in the black hole known as Malaysian customs.

Anyway, some things you people who read this should know. Grover Washington Jr. is amazing. And so is Louis Armstrong. The first one reminded me where I wanna get to playing this instrument. I got that second one from watching Wall-E, another one of the productive things I did this break -- watch movies. I would have watched one more on Saturday but turns out everyone (Amirah, Danial, Hyo, Patty, more???) is busy. WHICH, I should be as well!

Thanks DK for trying to get me outta me hermit shell. But I liked my rest as well =]

P.S. Sorry Amira, hope whatever it is gets better
